We finally got away!!

Here's a couple of photos from Bali :)

The weather during the 'week from hell' was hot enough to melt honey!  There has been a beehive on the outside of the toilet at the old house for a number of years now and with the extended heatwave, the wax melted and honey dripped out onto the verandah.  Bun, being the enterprising sort, left a couple of jars underneath and managed to collect some honey.  It tasted lovely and didn't last too long.

Callie and Steven came home for the weekend to catch up and did some planning for their engagement party and also picked a venue for the wedding.  The dogs stayed for one last visit and we took them back mid-week.

We had one last trip to Adelaide to see Josh, Kara and Kasiah before leaving.  Josh went to work late on Thursday morning so that he could say goodbye.  Kasiah is such a little character and loves waving her arms around.  She really plays to the camera and to be honest, I think she would have loved me to leave my camera with her as a toy hahaha

Last cuddles for a while :((
But we'll keep in touch via Skype and Kara sends us photos and videos all the time :)

We had tea at Kate's Saturday night for Bun's birthday and the girls gave him a set of binoculars.  Don't we all love when we get the present 'just right' for someone?

There was still smoke hanging around from the fires so that always makes for spectacular sunsets!

 Photobombers!!

We left home on Sunday mid-morning, having cleaned the house ready to fly back in for Anzac weekend.  When I was taking this photo, Bun was telling me to 'hurry up and check the brake lights'!!

We only went as far as Orroroo as we hoped to catch up with friends there.  Even though it was pretty damn hot, we spent three days there.  We were lucky enough that everyone was able to spare us some time away from their work and show us around.   Thanks so much to Marg and Grant, Gilmore and Michelle, Bentley and Millie, Denise and Don and Chook and Spog!!!  The hospitality and guided tours made our short stay memorable :)))

Gypsy above and Boofy below

As usual, if Bun can find equipment to look at, he's happy!

Even some 'old' Southwark beer in a fridge haha

We left Port Augusta this morning (Thursday) just as the sun was coming up.

Just in case you weren't sure what the building was??  This is in Iron Knob.
We came through Kimba and Kyancutta on the way.
We are now at Wudinna and have had a wander around, looking at the different granite rocks near the town.   Too bloody hot to do any walking though!

With the forecast for a few more days of 40+, we are going to head to Venus Bay or Streaky Bay tomorrow and base ourselves in that area until the heatwave finishes.  It promises to be quite a bit cooler by the sea, thank goodness for great air-conditioning in the van :)

One last photo, Josh put this little cutie on Facebook the other day, she looks pretty happy with herself LOL

Josh and Kara and Callie and Steven are all kicking along with wedding plans and working on budgets hahaha.  Hate to tell them that budgets are always going to feature in their lives :)

I think that's probably enough from me now
Cheers

Saturday 18/1/14

Walking the dogs at the lake, smoke haze from the fires making for an interesting sunrise!

Poor Boof, unco as ever!

Storm, mid-shake LOL

I love the look in Boof's eyes here!!

Tea with the family tonight so some of them can catch up with Callie and Steven and see the ring! :)

A few photos taken 17/1/14

Looking towards Monash

Bun climbed up the windmill for the last couple of photos.  Hoping the wind stays away and everyone is ok!!

You know that slow kind of feeling you get between Christmas and New Year??

This is what it looks like :))

The dogs enjoyed (I think) the ride back to Adelaide.

Kasiah is growing (of course) and changing every time we see her, she's really got the hang of rattles now, except for when she hits herself in the head with them :)

Such a cheeky little monkey!

And fascinated by Bun's pockets :)

I know they were saying 'no photos, we look like shit' but I couldn't resist lol.

Had to have a photo of the ring!

The dogs were very happy to see them home.

We hope to be heading off before the end of January so we are slowly getting things sorted with the truck and the van.  We are catching up with friends this weekend, the kids are going to be here the following weekend and then we will be ready to go.

Cheers
